Avenue profiles Dr. Copeland.

With her innovations in the surgical treatment of facial trauma, Michelle Copeland, D.M.D., M.D., F.A.C.S., P.C., has helped to define the standard of care for patients with fractured facial bones. Formerly chief of plastic surgery at City Hospital Center in Elmhurst, Queens, Copeland is now an attending physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. She is a member of the Medical Health Advisory Board of the Society for the Advancement of Women's Health Research, which advises Congress on women's health issues. Her topics of research include cellular biology and the tissue structure of cartilage.
