Dry Skin
Dry skin, also known as xerosis, generally isn't a serious condition; however, it can be uncomfortable and unsightly. As the skin dries, cells shrink and contract, leading to fine lines and wrinkles.
Ordinary dry skin is typically caused by exposure to excessive heat or cold, low-humidity conditions (such as air-conditioned environments), under-hydration, aging, and even excessive bathing, which removes the skin's vital natural oils. Dry skin can often be treated with the proper combination of moisturizers, creams, and lotions.
The good news is ordinary dry skin can become soft and supple in a matter of weeks.
