Staving off surgery.

Some plastic surgeons are beginning to propose that the judicious use of a combination of noninvasive and minimally invasive procedures may stave off indefinitely the ultimate step in skin rejuvenation—the facelift. Certainly, skin rejuvenation procedures are becoming more accessible, sophisticated, and effective all the time. But the earlier interventions—retinoids and AHAs at home...periodic light peels...Botox here and there—these remain the treatments of choice, a slow boat to lifelong loveliness. "If you start in your thirties and forties, instead of your fifties," New York City plastic surgeon Michelle Copeland goes so far as to say, "the need for a full facelift could forever be eliminated."
